One Year Later

We first introduced you to this little cutie last year.  You may recall that her parents are dear friends of ours, and our kids just LOVE her.  (See here: Mommy & MeThis year, though, we didn’t travel to New Jersey, she and her family came to us.

We spent a great day together taking in the sites from Kittery to Portland, and we tried to capture some fun shots along the way.  Though it was a little cool and the wind was blowing strong, at least the sun was out.  When they were here, we joked about how they brought the sun with them, because the weather had been so wet.  Maybe there was some truth to it after all, because it feels like it has been raining ever since they left.

Here are a couple of our favorites.  Photographing her is so easy when she smiles like this!

One thing her mom really wanted last year was a picture of all three kids.  For various reasons, it didn’t happen.  We think she will be pleased this year, though, don’t you?

We love these next two because they have such an “artsy” feel to them, and we can already envision them framed and hanging on the wall.  Yes, we understand this little sneak peek here really doesn’t do them justice, but we had to show them anyway.

The forecast is predicting some improvement in the weather today – we might even see the sun.  If we do, be sure to get out and enjoy it for at least a few minutes!

Happy First Father’s Day!

Many of you have heard us say that pictures can help you preserve memories.  They do this by recording specific points in time.  We can’t speak for the parents of this little cutie, but we can tell you what memories we preserved when we spent a short amount of time with this adorable 5½ month old.

·         She has gorgeous blue eyes!  When the light catches them just right, they sparkle!

·         She loves to smile.  When we pull out our camera, though, she becomes very curious about and focused on everything going on around her.

·         Both Mom and Dad are completely infatuated by her (as they should be!).  She clearly feels the same way.

·         Though she is young, she is done with sitting still and wants to be on the move.  Once her legs catch up with her brain, she’ll be gone!  (Maybe that’s why she kept showing us her feet throughout our session?)

Here are a few of our favorites from our session together.

We hope we were able to preserve some very special memories for this family.  We also hope Dad enjoyed his First Father’s Day today!

Stay tuned for some pictures from a mother- and father-to-be, coming very soon!

Until then,

A Beautiful Family to Share

We had the pleasure of spending last Saturday morning with this beautiful family – lucky us!  These two young brothers are both handsome and full of smiles.

The older brother was very busy taking care of the garden hose, “mowing” the lawn with his bubble blower and playing on the swings.  He did take a break from all this work to pose for a couple of pictures for us.  We were able to get some great captures of him with his dad, too.

The baby of the family doesn’t usually nap during the day, but shortly after we arrived it was obvious he was ready for a power nap.  That was completely fine with us, because it allowed us to get this great capture.

Once he woke up, though, he was refreshed and full of smiles especially when we put him on his belly.

Finally, this family was beautifully dressed when we arrived, which we love - of course.  But, we also love it when people want to have a little fun, too, as this family did at the end of the session when they put on matching Sylvester shirts.  We love this family picture, and we couldn’t resist sharing it!

That’s all for now.  We have a busy weekend coming up with the Relay for Life and a maternity session (once we recover from the overnight Relay).  There should be lots to share next week, so stay tuned!

Until the next time,

Relay for Life – South Portland

We are pleased to announce that will be supporting this year’s American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life by photographing their annual “slumber party” in South Portland Friday evening June 12th through Saturday morning June 13th.  This is the first time we have had the privilege to support this worthy cause, and we are really looking forward to it.  We have heard that things can get kind of crazy at 4:00 in the morning, but everyone has a great time!

Weather permitting, our kids will be coming with us ready to camp out for the night.  Alex will likely be asleep shortly after 9, maybe 10.  But, we wouldn’t be surprised if Caitlyn kept us company most of the night!

We’ll be sure to post pictures here once it’s over, so stay tuned.  In the meantime, you can find out more information about this wonderful organization and this amazing night here:  http://www.southportlandrelay.org/.  We’d love to have you join us on the 12th!

Final Class of 2010 Introductions

Meet Sandy!  She is our second and last Senior Representative from Bonny Eagle.  We first met Sandy’s family last year when we had the privilege of taking her sister’s senior portraits.

We had a lot of fun with Sandy.  She loves to play softball and plays all year round.  Not only does she have a great smile, she gave us some great serious poses too (trust us, that’s not so easy for everyone to do!).

We met at SMCC for her session.  It was our first time using that location and we found that it has some great characteristics.  As usual, we feel we could have done so much more, if only we had more time.

Here are a few of our favorites from Sandy’s modeling session.

More Class of 2010 Introductions!

This time, we are pleased to introduce Daisy!  She is our Senior Representative from Gorham High School.  Her session actually started off a little damp.  While it quickly dried off for us, the clouds and wind didn’t go away.  (We are beginning to notice a pattern in the weather when photographing our senior representatives this year.)  The tide was coming in and the waves were really crashing on the rocks.  We tried hard to make sure she didn’t get splashed by the waves, but . . .  we weren’t always successful.  (Sorry Daisy!)

Here are some of our favorites.

If you are a junior and you know Daisy, be sure to ask her how you can earn free portraits when you have your senior portraits taken with us!

We’ll be back soon with pictures of our last senior representative from Bonny Eagle.

Stay tuned,

Father’s Day Surprise . . . . Shhhhh

If you happen to know the man who is lucky enough to be married to this beautiful woman or is the father to these beautiful “girls,” please be careful not to spill the beans.   They want to surprise Dad with a picture of his “girls” for Father’s Day.  We think he will be very pleased, don’t you?

We had so much fun with these ladies when we met for our session.  We can’t remember the last time we laughed that hard!  We can only imagine what it must have been like growing up in their house when they were younger.  During the teenage years, Dad was probably ready to pull his hair out!  Clearly, they care for each other very much and still enjoy spending time together.

Welcome Class of 2010!

It’s hard to believe it’s time for us to start working with Seniors again.  In the short time since last October, we’ve almost forgotten how fun they are and how much we enjoy working with them.

Meet Corinne!  She is one of our Senior Representatives from Bonny Eagle.  She wanted to go down to the Pier in Old Orchard for her modeling session.  Well, the Pier was locked up, the fog had engulfed the beach and it was a little cool.  BUT – in spite of all that – we had a blast and we got some great shots in a short amount of time.  Just imagine what we could have done with more time to explore.

Last Senior from the Class of 2009

This Senior was our last from this year’s Class of 2009.  We’ve been trying to get together since last Fall, but he’s been busy making the most of his Senior year.  Isn’t that the way it’s supposed to be?

We had a great time working with him.  If he came only because his mom made him (as is the case with many senior guys!), he didn’t let on; and his genuine smile made him very easy to photograph.  We wish him all the best as he winds down to graduation.

It’s hard to believe, but we start working with our new Class of 2010 Senior Representatives this weekend.  Stay tuned for some sneak peeks very soon.

What a cutie!

Our session with this little cutie pie had to be rescheduled a couple of times, but once it finally happened we quickly learned that he was worth the wait.  He has wonderful deep blue eyes, a head full of hair, and a never ending curiosity about everything going on around him.  (That’s code for he wouldn’t let himself fall asleep during our session.)  We did manage to capture a couple of cute sleeping shots during the two minutes when he closed his eyes.  J

Here are a few of our favorites.  We hope you love them as much as we do.
